About Us

Technology Transfer Offices that have been operating worldwide for years began to be established within universities in our country for the first time in the 2010s, generally starting to provide services under TUBITAK's support program.

Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) are defined as a value chain that facilitates the transfer of skills, knowledge, and technologies from researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to society and universities, creating mutual economic value.

Due to their service within the TUBITAK program, their organizational structure and service methodology have been shaped within the program's main structure.

This structure consists of five modules and serves three separate target groups. The target groups served are defined as Academic Staff, Students, and the Business World, while the service modules include Visibility, Academic Projects, University-Industry Collaboration, Intellectual Property Rights, and Entrepreneurship modules.

MEFTTO - Technology Transfer Office was established in our university in January 2020 with the aim of transforming the knowledge and technology within our university into value-added new applications and commercial outputs.

In this context, our goals are as follows:

  • Contribute to the definition of R&D strategies at our university.

  • Work in line with our university's R&D policies and strategies.

  • Organize training, seminars, workshops, and similar events for the promotion of national and international R&D funds within our university and to make better use of these funds, as well as to provide support in project preparation, application, execution, and monitoring.

  • Contribute to the development of a culture of project writing and management.

  • Collaborate with the public and private sectors in R&D and innovation.

  • Provide promotional, informational, and educational services on technology transfer issues within and outside the university.

  • Conduct analyses, promotions, events, and similar activities that reveal the potential, opportunities, and more for university-industry collaboration, and also act as an intermediary for contracted projects.

  • Protect and implement knowledge and inventions under intellectual property rights.

  • Provide university internal company establishment and entrepreneurship services and support within this scope.

  • Prepare working environments in collaboration with international universities' Technology Transfer Offices, involving national/international stakeholders (local/foreign companies, universities, etc.).

  • Carry out information activities on intellectual and industrial property rights for the preservation of knowledge generated as a result of R&D activities.
