Application and Requirements

The application will be done online and the originals of the documents will be submitted during registration. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the application form and application documents are complete and correct. 

After the application process, foreign students who are accepted to the program have to make their enrollment by coming to our University themselves. And also all foreign students should get a resident permit in Turkey. A resident permit is a must document for foreign students.

Application Requirements:

Computer Science and Engineering PhD:

• In order to apply for a Computer and Science PhD program, candidates must have a master's degree in a relevant field. In addition, candidates must have a master's degree with thesis in any field. For bachelor's and master's diplomas obtained from abroad, the appropriate opinion of the higher education institution where the diploma is obtained is sought for the recognition of the education and degree received.

• Candidates must have at least 65 points from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) in quantitative score type. Candidates who have a score at least equivalent to ALES in the internationally recognized “Graduate Record Examination” (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which are considered equivalent to ALES by the Interuniversity Council, are also taken into consideration. (ALES score will be evaluated with 60% weight.)

• An interview will be held and Reference Letters will be evaluated.(Interview score will be evaluated with 20% weight).
  All documents need to be prepared in Turkish or in English. Documents prepared in another language than Turkish and English, need to be submitted with a translation.

• For the Turkish Program, candidates must have at least 55 points, for the English Program canditates must have at least 60 from central foreign language exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education and international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM or an equivalent score from international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM. (Foreign language score will be evaluated with 20% weight.)

Application Documents:

• Diploma: The original diploma of the candidate students. Applications by international applicants studying abroad are valid only after the approval and recognition of the last graduated higher education institution and the course of study by the Turkish Higher Education Council. Required processes regarding recognition are to be started and followed by the student. • Transcript of Grades: An official paper transcript (indicating courses, grades, degrees received, rank or distinction, if applicable) from each college or university attended is required.

• Language Proficiency Test: 

a) English Proficiency result. For the Turkish Program min scores: KPDS/YDS/ÜDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL 55, TOEFL 66. For the English Program, min scores: KPDS/YDS/ÜDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL 65, TOEFL 78) IELTS is no longer accepted.

b) The International students who will study in Turkish are required to provide Turkish language proficiency. Candidates who have successfully graduated from an undergraduate program whose language of instruction is Turkish at a university in the country or abroad whose equivalence is accepted by the Council of Higher Education will be exempt from the Turkish exams.
