What is MEF PDM?

Individual psychological counseling is a process that supports individuals' personal, social, academic and professional development. Throughout the process, it is aimed to identify the problems that individuals face in the specified areas, to produce solutions to these problems and to actively try to apply these solutions in daily life.

MEF PDM provides individual counseling sessions, group counseling sessions, workshops, seminars, and bulletins to the people within the university, both face-to-face and online, taking into account the needs of the university. All services provided at MEF PDM are carried out in line with ethical principles and the principle of confidentiality.

What is Individual Counseling?

In individual counseling services, it is expected that the individual will get to know himself/herself better and increase his/her awareness about himself/herself and improve the quality of life in his/her daily life.

Individual counseling sessions are conducted face-to-face or online. To make an appointment and for your questions:

Individual psychological counseling is limited to a maximum of 10 sessions within the unit and the number of sessions is planned according to the needs of the individuals.

What is Group Counseling?

A group is formed when two or more people come together for a common purpose. Group counseling is a professional service that aims to provide social support, awareness and self-awareness to group members by sharing their experiences with each other.

In group work, the person realizes that the problem they are trying to deal with is not only their own, and for many people, even realizing that they are not alone is part of the development. In addition, during the sessions, members have the opportunity to improve their self-expression and social skills. In addition, the exchange of ideas between group members during the sessions gives them the opportunity to acquire new resources.

Group sessions are scheduled at MEF University or online for an average of 5-10 weeks, one session per week. One session lasts approximately 1-1.5 hours.

Seminars & Brochures

The seminars organized within the unit and the brochures published are prepared by taking into account the needs of individuals at the university.

In addition to individual counseling, you can contact PDM if you would like to request a seminar or brochure on a specific topic.

Where to go in case of emergency?

The MEF PDM unit provides both face-to-face and online services. Appointments are prioritized according to the order of application. If you think you are facing an emergency situation, you can send an e-mail to MEF PDM and our experts working in the unit. MEF PDM unit is open during the day (08:00-16:00). In case of a crisis that requires an immediate response, it is recommended that you apply to the nearest health institution, taking into account the urgency of the situation.
