Biography

Ceren Mermutluoğlu graduated from Galatasaray High School in 2008 and from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2013. After completing her legal internship, she was awarded the Jean Monnet Scholarship of the European Union and received her LL.M. from University of Edinburgh in 2015 with her thesis entitled “Effectiveness of European Human Rights Standards in Policing: The Case of Turkey”. She also received a second LL.M. from Galatasaray University in 2017 with the thesis on “Woman and Unjust Provocation in Criminal Law”. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree on public law at Galatasaray University. Mermutluoğlu worked as a research assistant at Kadir Has University Faculty of Law in the 2015-2016 academic year. She joined MEF University Faculty of Law in September 2016 as a research assistant in the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law Department.
