Biography

In 2002, after graduating from Gazi University Faculty of Law, Gökçe Çobansoy Hızel, who started her career as a lawyer and worked as a manager at the intersection of law, ethics, human rights and new technologies in corporate companies, completed her master's degree at Maltepe University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Human Rights with her thesis on ‘The Problem of Protection of Personal Data in terms of Human Rights’ under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ioanna Kuçuradi. Çobansoy Hızel, who studied at Vilnus International School of Law and Business within the framework of the Erasmus Programme during her master's studies, participated in the EU Regulation on Robotics and AI summer school training at Scuola Superiora Sant'anna and is currently continuing her PhD programme at Hacettepe University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Human Rights. UNESCO Women for Ethical Artificial Intelligence Expert Platform (W4EAI), ITU (International Telecommunications Union) Smart, Sustainable Cities Platform Initiative (U4SSC), ITU Metaverse Focus Working Group, IEEE Standardisation Groups (P2089, P7014, P7004), Gökçe Çobansoy Hızel has also contributed to studies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, human rights and ethics before international organisations such as World Economic Forum (WEF), UNICEF, GSMA. He is author of the book ‘Metaverse: Technologies, Opportunities and Threats’ published by Springer Nature, ’Metaverse and Human Rights: Do We Need Metaversal Declaration of Human Rights?’ published by Springer Nature, Çobansoy Hızel speaks fluent English, basic Italian and Greek.
