Biography
Arzu Karakulak successfully completed her Bachelor and Master degree in Psychology at the University of Tübingen in Germany. In 2015, she obtained a joint PhD from Tilburg University in the domain of Cross-Cultural Psychology and Koç University in the domain of Social and Inductrial & Organizational Psychology. She received the Stiftung Mercator-Istanbul Policy Center fellowship in 2021-2022 and carried out research on the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on prejudice, both in Türkiye and across various European nations. In 2023, she joined the Psychology Department of MEF Univiersity as Associate Professor. Her research interests concentrate on the cross-cultural comparative study of prosocial behavior, cooperation, positive youth development, morality, acculturation, multiculturalism and leadership.
The research she has conducted in this context has been published in leading journals of the field such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Adolescence, or Motivation and Emotion.
