Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezgi Toplu-Demirtaş joined MEF University in 2017. In 2019, she spent a year at Florida State University in the USA under the Fulbright Postdoctoral Research Scholarship. She obtained her associate professorship in 2021. Her main research areas include psychological, physical, sexual, and cyber intimate partner violence among heterosexual and lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals. One of her main academic focuses also involves developing inclusive, protective, and preventive interventions in relationships and empirically testing their effectiveness. In this context, she continues to develop projects under the scope of "safe relationships, safe school/campus". Assoc. Prof. Dr. Toplu-Demirtaş has published her research in prominent academic journals such as Archives of Sexual Behavior, Journal of Counseling Psychology, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Journal of Sex Research, Personal Relations, Psychology of Violence, and Violence against Women.
