Biography
Assoc. Dr. Hande Karadağ serves as a lecturer, department chair and graduate programs’ coordinator at MEF University Department of Business Administration. Dr. Karadag graduated from Marmara English Business Administration, Accounting-Finance Department (in Eng.) and received her master's degree in international trade with honors. Dr. Karadag completed her doctorate in strategic management, which she started at Yeditepe University and finalized at Isenberg School of Management in 2013. Karadağ continued her postdoctoral research studies at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.Dr. Karadağ's articles on management and entrepreneurship are published in leading SSCI journals such as International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior & Research, Canadian Journal of Social Sciences, Personnel Review and The International Journal of Management Education, receiving around 1500 citations. Besides her articles, Dr. Karadag’s book "Strategic Financial Management for Small and Medium-Sized Companies” was published by Emerald Publishing in 2013, and currently is sold worldwide. Dr. Karadag's joint paper with Professor Dr. Faruk Şahin was awarded as the “Highly Commanded Paper” award by Emerald Publishing in November 2020. Before becoming the Department Chair, Dr. Karadag has served as the Director of the Social Sciences Institute, the Director of the MEF YABEM Lifelong Education Center and the MBA Coordinator in MEF University for 7 years. Dr. Karadağ's current research areas include dynamic managerial capabilities, entrepreneurial management, innovation management and cognitive entrepreneurship. In addition to her academic studies, Karadağ worked as a manager at Uni Credit Group for 19 years and served as the portfolio manager of many foreign and domestic companies and groups, including Alarko Holding, Eczacıbaşı Holding, Colgate Palmolive, IKEA and Hedef Alliance Holding, for 7 years. He served as branch manager. Dr. Karadag also holds the title of Senator at JCI (Junior Chamber International). Dr. Karadağ has been the Country Vice President of the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship for two terms between 2015-2022.
