Biography
Oğuz Polat was was graduated school of Medicine of İstanbul University at 1983. He attended as professor
to Marmara Medical School, department of forensic medicine at 1990. He was the head of Council of
Forensic Medicine of Ministry of Justice between 2000-2003
He worked as a researcher and lecturer in Begun Violence Prevention Center of Case Western Reserve
Unıversity between 2009-2012. He is lecturing to medical, law and pscyhology at schools of five universities
about medical malpractice, forensic medicine, criminology and child rights. He is the director of Prevention
of Violence Center ASUMA at Acıbadem University and also giving lectures at School of medicine.
He has 120 articles about Medical malpractice, Child abuse, Child’s Rights, Children at Risk, Violence
toward children and Forensic medicine and 24 books about Child abuse, Child’s Rights, violence and
Forensic Medicine including all aspects of child abuse. Also he is at the editorial board of 6 medical
journals.
Prof. Polat was the founder and board director of 3 NGOs focused on children at risk and was the chief
raporteuer of the first alternative Initial Country Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child as
the head of the reporting committe.
He is the founder and president of the NGO named IMDAT -Şiddeti Önleme ve Rehabilitasyon Derneği-
Society of Prevention and Rehabilitation of Violence since 2015 which is located in Istanbul
