DANTE DORANTES

Prof. Dorantes obtained his master and doctor degrees in the field of Manufacturing Automation from Saint-Petersburg Technical University, as well as earned a M.Sc. in Management and Administrative Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. He worked since 1998 for the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico, where he was the Head of the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. As a Full Professor, he joined the School of Precision Instruments and Opto-electronics at Tianjin University in China, in 2008. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MEF University in Istanbul in 2014. His research interests are laser ultrasonics, laser-based measurement and mechanical characterization, mechatronics, haptic and prosthesis robotics, as well as neuroscience-based learning. He is author of 6 textbooks, 4 book chapters, over 80 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, and 13 patents, among other intellectual property works. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Automation Technology, member of the International Steering Committee of the International Conference on Mechatronics Technology, and of the International Conference of Precision Measurement, among other international scientific bodies.
